The Urban Systems Committee was established by the city on July 9, 1974, by cooperative agreement and is continued as a requirement of the Department of Transportation to obtain public input to determine the priority of certain street development and improvement projects. They are also responsible for reviewing items such as parking and snow removal.

The Board of Adjustments meets at least once per quarter, but a meeting can be held whenever needed. The Board of Adjustments is established to review applications for variances from certain zoning requirements, appeals from administrative decisions concerning zoning, and certification of legal non-conforming uses.
